50th Anniversary All State Music Camp

Spend a week of musical fun and learning at All-State Music Camp at SDSU. Music students who have completed the seventh grade or above are encouraged to register for this fun week of making music, making friends, and a wide variety of musical learning. Classes include Audition/Contest Preparation, Beginning Band, Careers in Music, Chamber Music/Small Ensembles, Choirs, Computer Technology, Improvisation Class, Piano Camp, Private Lessons, Theory/Composition, Vocal Techniques.

GIML - Early Childhood Music

Early Childhood Professional Development (ECPD) is for elementary, middle and high school music teachers, piano teachers, professional performers, and music education students who are interested in furthering their understanding of audiation and enhancing their teaching through an audiation approach. The framework will be provided by Music Learning Theory, developed by Dr. Edwin E. Gordon. Unique practical application of the theory and its use in early childhood, general and instrumental music will be presented by faculty who are highly experienced in teaching classes based on music learning theory

NSU Piano Duet Fest

The daily schedule will entail the hours of 9:00am – noon, and include private lessons, coaching sessions, and a masterclass each day. The week will conclude with lunch being served on Friday, followed immediately by a final recital.

NSU Voice and Jazz Camps

NSU Voice Camp will give students the opportunity to study private voice as well as singing in a group. Students will also have classes in movement, diction and other related topics.
NSU Jazz Camp students will play in a large and small group, have private instruction on their instrument and learn about improvisation. The camps run Wednesday evening through Saturday afternoon. Both camps join for the final concert on Saturday afternoon.

Rushmore National Music Camp

Rushmore Music Festival

The Rushmore Music Festival is a chamber music camp for HS students. The camp uses a combination of collaborative work in small ensembles (quartets, trios etc.) and private instruction. The faculty is comprised of “rising stars” in the chamber music world. Many of them have active international careers. This is a great opportunity for your students to immerse themselves in chamber music with their peers from all over the country. Solo Performance/Chamber Music Camp for string players, pianists, and young composers. Multiple sessions: Performance Program for beginning/early intermediate violin, viola & cello (ages 8-13); Music Academy for intermediate/advanced strings and piano (ages 12-20); Composition Fellowship (ages 13-20). The application deadline has been extended to April 15.

USD Summer Music Camp

The University of South Dakota Summer Music Camp is a six-day experience of learning and music-making open to students who have completed grades 5–12. Activities include vocal and instrumental ensembles, as well as a variety of other musical activities. Opportunities for private lessons in a specific instru­ment or voice are also available.

USD Directors Institute

The University of South Dakota’s Music Directors Institute is an intensive program designed to expose music teachers to the best in current and standard literature in addition to teaching methods and materials. The three-day institute will include large ensemble reading sessions, master classes and clinic sessions that focus on a wide variety of teaching subjects for educators.
